This was my first time having a session at Salt Creek Beach. This beach has so many different options for locations that are great for photos, but you can't be afraid of walking up a pretty big hill.
For this family portrait session, we started close to the top of the hill and worked our way down, and ended at the beach.
The Ratanapinta family helps train service dogs and wanted their current dog, Banner, to join the family session before giving him back for his service work.
It can be a challenge bringing a dog on a session but I will make a separate blog of tips and tricks on how to make a session with a dog/s a success.
I love the images I capture for couples when I have them walking toward me and the husband spins his wife. I also love to capture that same pose with fathers and daughters. Maybe it reminds me of father/daughter dances or little girls who always want daddy to spin them in their princess dresses. I just know it's a sweet moment to capture. And time flies so maybe the next time he dances with her might just be at her wedding. That's when this image will become very special.
It was Banner's first time at the beach and he was having the time of his life. He kept trying to eat the sand and jump in the waves.
We had fun during this session even though it was a little challenging with Banner. In the end, there were great photos that were totally worth it.
